Connick Tree Care Chairman helps raise £20,000 for a new youth housing project

Connick Tree Care Chairman Mike Connick recently joined more than 30 cyclists on YMCA East Surrey‘s charity ride to Paris, helping raise almost £20,000 towards a new supported housing project for vulnerable young people.

The challenge began in Redhill, with riders travelling around 200 miles to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. While most participants completed the journey over three days, Mike was among a small group who completed the entire ride in just one day. Despite some wet weather at the start, the cyclists reached Paris safely and celebrated their achievement together.

Supporting local communities has always been important to Connick Tree Care, and we are proud to have supported YMCA East Surrey for more than a decade through sponsorship, fundraising and participation in events like this. Our commitment to community organisations forms part of the wider social value we aim to deliver across the South East.

Mike said:

“It was a fantastic experience and a real team effort. The route was challenging at times, but knowing we were helping to raise money for such an important cause kept everyone motivated. YMCA East Surrey provides invaluable support to young people across our region, and I’m delighted we could play a small part in helping make this new housing project a reality.”

The money raised will contribute towards YMCA East Surrey’s plans to create supported accommodation for young people facing homelessness. The development will provide safe housing alongside tailored support to help residents build independent and positive futures.

Dan Pennington, Managing Director of Connick Tree Care, added:

“We’re incredibly proud of Mike and everyone who took part. Connick Tree Care has enjoyed a long relationship with YMCA East Surrey, and we’re always pleased to support initiatives that make a lasting difference in our local communities.”

Congratulations to all the riders, organisers, volunteers and supporters who made this year’s Cycle to Paris such a success. Their efforts will have a lasting impact on the lives of young people across East Surrey.
