Of recent there have been reports in the news of a number of emerging tree diseases that have the potential to become epidemics that could cause huge losses to the UK tree stock in our towns, cities, gardens and countryside. These diseases are now present within the UK and we have to accept that it is extremely unlikely that they can be eradicated.

- Massaria disease of Plane trees
- Asian Long Horn Beetle
