New lease of life for 400 year Elm

Connick Tree Care transported a 400 year Elm tree trunk on the first leg of its journey on its way to a new lease of life.

We supplied an internal frame to protect it during the trip from one side of Brighton to the other.

The resting place for the next year is the Secret Garden in Kemptown, where acclaimed sculptor Elpida Hadzi-Vasileva, will de-bark and char the dead elm tree then use gold to convert it into a magnificent sculpture.

Once transformed the trunk, in its glittering form, will return to Preston Park to reside once again alongside it’s twin.
